At the corner of 3rd and Oak sits Kneading Hands. You may have seen the sign and perhaps even wondered, what is Kneading Hands? Founded in 2008 by Ali Boehm after passionately traveling the world, while funding these adventures as a waitress on cruise ships and in ski towns, she was ready to pursue her life long passion of helping people through therapeutic massage. With an art major and business minor under her belt from Fort Lewis College, she attended BCMT (Boulder College of Massage Therapy) to get her massage education and then move to Steamboat to start her career.
Kneading Hands started out by renting space by the hour in an existing massage therapy practice located on Lincoln Avenue. A year later Ali branched out to her current building. She has occupied 3 of the 4 offices spaces within this 100+ year old house. Her most recent transition from the basement (or more fondly coined “garden level”) to the main level on December 1st of this year has allowed her growing business the opportunity to bloom after years of nourishing the seeds she planted in her garden space.
Kneading Hands currently has 6 heart centered massage therapists practicing in this new space, all of whom are committed to helping people relax and reconnect with their body. In addition to offering massage 7 days a week, Kneading Hands has a retail shop which offers herbs, essential oils, clothing, soaps and other creations from local/Colorado artisans. With new expanded hours, Monday-Friday 10:00-6:00, the shop offers something for everyone!
Advice: You can’t feel prevention or deterioration.
Our bodies, just like our cars, need tuning up. Massage can be a great prevention tool. The benefits of massage include, but are not limited to;
Increased circulation, improved immune function, increased range of motion, better sleep, reduced stress, and relief of muscle tension.
We look forward to earning your trust!
