“Louie’s Saxophone” a children’s book written and illustrated by my brother Trevor J Boehm has been selected as a finalist for this year’s Evvy Award. The award is given through the Colorado Independent Publishers Associate. Winner’s are announced May 17th. The story tells of a canary in a quandary, unable to sing he must find other ways to “make music”. It is a touching and inspirational story that touches old and young alike! Much like our main character, Trevor also had struggles (including Bipolar Disorder), but unlike Louie, Trevor was unable to overcome these struggles and took his life in November of 2008. The story is available for purchase at the Kneading Hands Shop. All proceeds are donated to various organizations including, REPS – Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide, and Poogies Place.
